What to do if you have been sexually assaulted in the last 7 days?
At the CASA suite, we understand you may be feeling scared, confused and isolated. We have a dedicated team of staff on hand to help you.
Police ReferralIf you contact the police to make a report and require a forensic medical examination, with your agreement the police will bring you to the CASA suite.
The police referral service is open 24/7 a medic and crisis worker will be on hand to support you.
Self ReferralIf you do not wish to report to the police you can contact the CASA suite direct and speak to a member of staff to discuss your options, please note the office is open Monday to Friday 8am-4pm. There is an answer phone facility if you would like to leave a message one of the team will call you back as soon as possible.
If you attend the CASA suite as a self referral you will still be offered a forensic medical examination, any swabs taken from you will be stored for up to 7 years if necessary, giving you time to consider whether or not to report the incident to the police.
Regardless of whether you report to the police or attend as a self referral, you will still be offered full support and aftercare

- If you are in immediate danger call the police on 999
- The police can also be contacted on the non emergency number 101
- If you have a serious injury you must seek immediate help
- Save all clothing you were wearing at the time of assault
- Do not shower, bath, wash or brush your teeth
- Please try not to use the toilet and if relevant keep all sanitary wear
